Virgin Islands Real Estate is my life. I am a strong believer in continuing education and self improvement. Within the first year of my practice in the USVI, I attained my Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI) designation. Shortly thereafter I attended The National Association of Realtors' (NAR's) training for Professional Standards and Arbitration.

Starting my career in real estate with Re/Max in St. Thomas, I maintained a production rate that established me as a consistent member of the President's Club from 2005 through 2009.

I obtained my Broker's license, in January of 2008 and opened my own brokerage firm in February of 2010.  I offer both buyer's and seller's representation.

Constantly staying abreast of trend and changes, I have completed my e-Pro certification which is about the application of technology to real estate transactions.  Towards the end of 2013, I attained the designation of a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) expanding my focus to a global level. As of February 2015 I also attained my Certified Residential Specialist designation, having honed my skills in guiding sellers in marketing their properties as either investment properties or primary residences.

I have served on the Professional Standards and the Grievance Committees. I have remained engaged as an active member of the St. Thomas Board of Realtors. serving  as the President of the St. Thomas Board (2012 and 2013 and President of the Virgin Islands Territorial Association of Realtors (2014 & 2015).  As a state president, I am informed and involved at the national level.  I serve on the Housing,  Multiple Listing, Broker Involvement committees and  am serving as vice chair the Small Board Idea Exchange  for NAR in 2015.

In 2014 Van Blake-Coleman Realty became a certified provider for the Economic Development Authority (EDA) clients, Formally known as the Economic Development Commission (EDC). The EDA is the entity that screens and facilitates the entrance of new business entities to the territory. These companies bring new opportunities and  employment to the territory and in exchange, receive tax benefits and incentives.

I am active with Downtown Revitalization Inc., a grass roots group determined to preserve and stimulate the territory's business centers and economy. The Historical Society is another interest of mine as well.

In 2008 I was the first broker to film a House Hunter's International segment on St. Thomas. I remain involved with the film industry which is quit active in the Virgins Islands' and coordinated all of the housing and concierge level service for the producers, and production staff for the 27th season of Real World, the longest running reality show on TV.

Growing up in a family where my father's career was with the State Department, relocation is in my blood. I have lived in various places on the mainland as well as spending my formative years in West Africa. Knowing the challenges and joys of changing locations both as a child and an adult; I am sensitive to many issues like changing schools and building new networks of friends in a new area as well as the importance of maintaining old relationships.

The territory is behind the curve with the processing of foreclosures and Other Real Estate Owned ( OREO or shortened to REO) properties. We are seeing the first waive of these properties coming to market and I am handling a number of these properties as well.
